KOVALAM-ALLEPPEY-PERIYAR-MUNNAR-COCHIN

DAY 01: ARRIVAL TRIVANDRUM - KOVALAM

Arrival at Trivandrum and transfer to beach resort hotel in Kovalam. The palm-fringed beach of Kovalam is one of the most famous in India with the boundless blue waters of the Arabian Sea and miles of white sands.

DAY 02: KOVALAM

Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala, still preserves the ancient roots of Keralan life. Visit Padmanabhaswamy temple and the Horse Palace - a magnificent wooden palace constructed by the Travancore king in 18th century.

DAY 03: KOVALAM - ALLEPPEY ~ KUMARAKOM

On arrival at Alleppey, board a Houseboat for an overnight cruise up to Kumarakom. Cruise through the palm fringed canals; Cruise until the evening when the houseboat will rest in the lake for an overnight stay. Evening, candlelit dinner onboard.

DAY 04: KUMARAKOM - PERIYAR

After breakfast disembark at Kumarakom and travel to Periyar. A scenic journey past the mist capped Western Ghats, spice plantations and open grasslands lined with spectacular water falls and delightful trekking trails.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most well-maintained wildlife sanctuaries in South India and it spreads out over an area of 700 sq Kms. Enjoy viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of your boat on the sanctuary’s lake.

DAY 05: PERIYAR - MUNNAR

Munnar is famous for its tea estates and is the biggest tea producer in South India. Located 1600 m above the sea level, this hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Govt. in South India. Visit Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam and the town of Munnar.

DAY 06: MUNNAR - COCHIN

After breakfast, check out and drive to Cochin.

Cochin, the commercial capital of Kerala, is located on the cluster of islands and narrow peninsulas. Enjoy winding streets packed with 500 year old Portuguese houses. The city is also home to 16th century Synagogue as the city is home to a Jewish community whose roots go back to the Diaspora.

DAY 07: COCHIN

Half-day city tour covering St. Francis church - the oldest church of India, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue and the Chinese Fishing Nets. In the evening enjoy a spectacular Kathakali dance show.

DAY 08: COCHIN DEPARTURE

Transfer to Cochin Airport to for departure.
